Towing with a Six Gun

I finally had a chance to work out the six gun pulling my toy hauler and let me tell you I couldnt be more pleased GCWR of just shy of 18000 lbs. 04 Ca So 4x4 auto dually Banks exhaust afe intake. To and from Glamis the Inkopah grade posed no problem!I was able to hold 55 mph traffic permitting. The temp NEVER went over 1180 degrees at a sustained wot. On the flats this rig will pull as fast as you safely care to. Boost never exceeded 25 psi. It seems there may be more powerful boxes available but for pulling on a basically stock vehicle with no worries about egt temp or excessive fuel pressure this is a good choice. If Edge can accomplish this with a bit more power with no problems Ill give that one a try too!!

Just curious but why would you try an edge if you already spent the money on the banks system and you like it?

How is the unit installed? What kind of wiring is required? Thanks for any info.

The Banks box plugs into the MAP sensor, fuel pressure sensor, crank position, cam position, and CAN-BUS connector. If you have an auto, it also taps into two wire running to the transmission to monitor lockup. This whole wiring harness runs through the firewall and the box sits inside the cab under the dash.

Would it be practical to take off if I should have to go to the dealership for service? Would there be any visual evidence that I had it on my truck if service person knew what to look for?

It took me about 30 min to take it off and about 45 min to put it back on. I removed it for the recall. No one said a word.

Is that pre-turbo? Seems pretty cool, hopefully your gauge is accurate. It wouldn't be good if you are running hotter than your gauge indicates. I know the exhaust & intake helps and you have the SO but if you have your foot into it your temps should be more like 1200-1250. Where did you have the 6-gun set?

Yes it is pre turbo. Level six. It seems that the higher the rpm the hotter it would get.
