I've recently purchased an Edge EZ w/ turnbuckle, boost gauge, and a pyrometer. Well the Edge and turnbuckle are installed but I'm waiting on my painter to finish with the A-pillar trim so I can install the gauges. I want to store my boat (7800#) this weekend which requires a 110 mile trip , should I be worried about towing ? Should I unhook the Edge and turnbuckle ?

Also when installing the turnbuckle , the directions read that the spring should measure

1 3/4" but where should that measurement be taken? I just want to make sure that I have enough pressure holding the wastegate shut. I know when I get the gauges installed I should be able to tell, but those won't be in for at least a week.

Well... ... .

If you install the Turnbuckle correctly then I would tow and not worry about it, your EGT's will be less then stock in my opinion.

EGT's with just an Edge EZ are not an issue in my opinion.

What he ^^^^^ said. If not at WOT for say... ... 30 seconds or more don't worry about it. Take the boat and put it away.

i seen you have an auto. keep the rpm's up on the hills if there are any. i put ez on an auto with nothing else on it and the tq would slip at low rpm's

My truck (see signature) had gauges before and after the EZ install. Although my ETH/DEE package is different, pre-EZ preturbo EGT's when towing were up to 1300 degF with 22 PSIG maximum boost. After installing the EZ and boost elbow (same effect as your HY turnbuckle), I can't exceed 1100 degF preturbo at 30 PSIG boost - that is with a BHAF and Jardine 4" exhaust, however. The EZ is a great addition for towing insofar as engine performance is concerned.

cwarner, go get it.

I just made a trip from Albuquerque to almost the coast of Cal. 995 Mi in 1 day with a 9000# load.

Never had any prob. EGT at worst was 1200 climbing to an elevation of 8000 Ft.

My truck is just like you are wondering about.
