I installed the PDR turbo with my 14 housing and the 3k kit last week. I pulled the 5th wh up I-70 to the Genesee exit today. I see now what everyone means about the improvements from the gov spring kits. The entire range is a little stronger - especially top end, which is what I badly needed. It is STRONG into the redline now! I was very worried about more smoke at the shiftpoints but it's actually better now because of the quicker boost, I'm sure. Towing in town is an absolute dream - it gets thru the gears much quicker and smoother! There was little difference on the hill in 5th gear(could only hit 950 egt)but the big difference was when I dropped to fourth and mashed it. I held the rpm to about 3100, 1250egt and 72 mph. When I hit the steepest spots and speed started to drop, I held it to the floor and hit 1290 egt max and slowed to 70 mph. It was about a 3 mph increase and had about 3 lbs more boost than before. A little bit of the improvement is from the Twin Ram I recently put on but can't say how much. The stock clutch is still doing fine and I don't want to go too far for that anyway, so I think I'm finally near the end! I'd still like more fuel at the top end without sliding the plate and effecting the bottom end. I need a hybrid plate! Craig

Great Review Craig

My next towing investment will be the PDR Turbo.

MY HY35 is perfect for not towing I am just wondering about EGT while towing a 30' 10K 5er

I bet the PDR HYbrid will spool just as quick as the HY35

I just wonder about the HP gain  will I see any ?

Mark Chappell and others have told me that the HY35/10 and HX35/12 are equals. Piers said the PDR/14 is even quicker spooling than the HX35/12. I can't even remember far back enough to say about the 12 but I believe what Piers said. It's sure faster than the HX/14. The PDR/14 should be win/win deal on the autos! Piers is going to have a HOT seller! He found a small supply of nonwastegated 14's that are the same lenght as the wastegated 12 and 14's and it sounds like they will be priced like a 16, or close. I hope I wasn't supposed to keep that a secret! You should see a hp increase if you give it enough fuel. I got my extra fuel(mostly at the top end) from the 3k kit. The first 3k kit had the wrong spring seats and I had dead throttle response for the first 1/2" or so of travel. The seats were meant for the autos. Than I got the right seats in, and WHOOPIE! QUICK throttle! I had to retrain my right foot for shifting. Craig

Pete, I am planning on it as long as weather permits. I'm not expecting to see real high numbers on my truck - I just want to be able to believe what I see! Craig
