Bed conflict

I am considering purshancing a 11,700 (GVWR) travel trailer.

I will be pulling this trailer accross the mountains with an 03 2500 48RE 4. 10 long bed truck. My question is what gauges and exhaust brake would you recommend. Any tips on pulling would be appriciated.

Thank,

HenryH

Gauges are not needed in a stock truck. If you up the power I'd go for a pyrometer, boost pressure and transmission temp.

You can search on exhaust brakes and find a lot of info. As far as I know they are not aprooved for the 48RE automatic. Jacobs has the blessing of DC/Cummins and I like my Pac. I would choose between those two.

You may want to consider a class V hitch set up. Make sure you go with a weight distributing system.

Take it easy until you get used to it and you should do just fine.

Get a EGT and Boost gauge The EGT gauge is nice when you pull off at a rest area you can watch it before you shut it down. Make sure your temp is down to 300 degrees and it can take a while especially if you just pulled a hill. I like my Dipricol they don't require a 12 volt power supply. When taking off a nice slow mash to the floor will really pull hard same for hills instead of stomping the pedal to the floor slowly put it to the wood. I had my gauges when my truck was stock I never hit 1300 stock but it was nice at shutdown time.
