Anyone running Toyo "Open Country M/T" tires? Wondering if they are noisy compared to Goodrich AT? Looking for a good snow tire.

your comparing apples to oranges. A m/t will always be louder than a a/t tire. My buddy is running 37 toyo m/t's on 20 wheels. They are a louder than stock but not too much. Maybe its cause they are on 20 wheels and there is not as much rubber on the road. Maybe I'm still to young to have that kind of stuff bother me

I like the toyo's. they are quiter than my bfg mud terrains. maybe even quieter than the good year MT/R's. and they work well everywhere. heck, I even just found them on sell in a 315/75-16 for 179$. cant beat that.

Not sure about the M/T's, but I've never gotten more than 35K out of three sets of Open Country A/T's (285/75/16). Rotated religiously every 5K and checked pressures weekly. No towing or offroad. They were very quiet and good on wet pavement, they just didn't last. (50K wear warranty)

Why was I so stupid to keep running them? Dealer treated me VERY generously on adjustment. Toyo recently came out with a 285 in the M-55, so I've got ~10K on them. They're 10 ply and supposed to wear much better. They do sing quite a bit, but not enough to discourage me from considering them again if they end up wearing well. Pretty spendy, tho.

This is what I have and I LOVE them. I have run BFG M/T's, Super Swamper Radials, Parnelli Jones Dirt Grips, and Nitto Terra Grapplers (A/T). These are the quietest M/T I have ever had. I will never run any other tire on my truck again.

The 38x14. 50x16 toyo's have a 31/32 tread depth ,10/32's more than the 37" toyo tire. Thats probably why mine are so noisy. My next set will be a set of 41" Iroks on a 20" rim(not my dd). BTW I run BFG's on my dd.

I've had Toyo 285 a/ts on for about 3000 miles now and they seem to run fine. I haven't noticed any increase in noise. I'm hoping they will wear as well as my old Les schwabs but is too soon to tell
