Thanks, TDR Staff

I want one of these!

Interesting Ford Diesel Option

Maybe the rear diff ratio was taller on mine and also it was a manual trans, if that makes a difference. It was not the motor, I lost the top end and installed a short block as well as having the carburetor rebuilt, and there was no difference.

Nissan has screwed the pooch in the price department as well as trying to compete in the big boy market with the wrong truck. They’d have been much better off to release the Frontier with the 2.8 Cummins global engine.

Mazda has diesel trucks all over the world. While working in Tinidad and Tobago, I had access to Toyota, Nissan and Mazda diesel trucks. They were all pretty darn good.

I also think that if Toyota tries to compete with The big threes diesels, they’ll get whooped good. I was surprised to see quite a few Nissan Cummins while on a trip down south recently. I talked to several of the owners and all seemed quite happy with their purchases with minimal complaints.

I test drove the Titan HD and was impressed. It was the price that I balked at. Toyota got whooped pretty good on the T100 and early Tundra’s, but they sell well now. Japanese have a lot of patience when introducing new vehicles.

Don, Mazda has trucks in their current lineup overseas?

They did in Trinidad and Tobago when I was there last in 2008 or 9. They looked like a South American Ford Ranger. I don’t know what year they were but Mazda supposedly stopped truck production in 06ish.
