Wow - a video you won't forget......

my mom and dad have a 2006 sequoia SR5 with all the toys and whistles including electronic actuated 4wd and low range. the issue is this: it will not shift on the fly from 2hi to 4hi. you have to stop place the auto in park or N wait about 15 sec and then only occasionally will it shift. most of the time you may have to move forward or back a couple of inches and retry the process. Is this transfer case not capable of shift on the fly? in this day in age i would certianlly think that it should/would be shift on the fly. i have tried to talk them into taking it back to toyota, but they won't as my dad seems to think that he is driving a 1950's/60's 4wd again. any thought?

Can't tell you exactly what is not working correctly, but I can tell you something sure isn't working right. It definately should shift from 4L to 4H on the fly. Definately needs to go to the dealer or some other shop.

automatic hubs? or drive flanges? ever thought of reading the manual to see what it says?

I believe that locking hubs, or flange as you call them, on a new vehicle are a thing of the past. I agree with BrainJ, take it to the dealer.
