The other day I had driven about 1/2 mile for the first time that day when my TPMS light came on and the warning that my left front tire was low and needed inflated. But the display showed the tire at 63lbs, the same as the right front. I continued my drive for another 25 miles or so. When I came out and started my trip back home the light was still on and the display was showing red on the left front tire with a reading still at 63lbs. I drove maybe 2 - 3 miles then the light and warning went away. It's been 3 days now and everything is still normal. I'm thinking that maybe the sensor in that tire may be going bad but seems strange that it would just start working again all of a sudden. Any thoughts? Thanks......Don

Don,
Your experience with the TPMS system appears to be normal and common.
My 2012 Laramie HO has the dual load selection ability(light and heavy) for the TPMS. At times it will throw an alarm at 1-2 psi below minimum, especially on the front tires. I run the fronts at the 65 psi minimum. I have driven 1/2 mile down the street and had the light reset, and then again driven it several miles over several days and had it not reset. What you experienced is probably a temperature related. The farther you drive and warmer it is outside, chances are it will increase the pressure to the point it reset the alarm. Short trips and low outside temperatures will decrease the chances of it resetting.
Just set the air pressure in your tires when they are cold and haven't been driven at your 65 psi setting and you will be fine. Chances are there is nothing wrong with the TPMS sensors, the air pressures are just close to minimums. Cold weather and lacking of being driven will increase the chance of it throwing the alarm.
