I have a 2013 2500 4WD long bed. My truck has been to the dealer 5 times for the same problem The EVIC
would say Have TIRE MONITORING SYSTEM SERVICE and orange tire symbol would be flashing.
They've replaced the TPMS Module three times and replaced the wire harness to the Module for corrosion.
This last time they couldn't find nothing wrong they called STAR and they said that my e-pass or ez-pass transponder is interfering with the signal also I have an aftermarket ALPINE radio in it they said could also cause the problem. All tire pressure's are reading normal.

Your ez-pass transponder is RFID...Only activates when it passes through the toll gate antenna.... It won't bother with TPMS signal. Are you using BlueTooth with your Alpine head unit?

no mostly hardwire, if I had a Dodge radio ( Uconnect) in would it do the same thing with bluetooth on it

the tires are 4 yrs old, Dodge dealer scared it to be unable to read sensors so they reprogramed them, two times they put a new module's in.

I say NO! For 6 to 7 months my babysitter the TPMS dings and flashes with my summer towing tires on. When the winter tires go on the truck the factory rims have the monitor modules installed. My summer tires and rims do not have any ability to monitor the tire pressure since they do not have the TPMS sensors in them.

I check my tire pressure with a tire pressure gauge at least once a month, more often when I tow my 5er. The tire pressure never varies by more that +/- 3 PSI when I check. I have no faith in gadgets like this!

I wouldn’t want a broken system on my rig, maybe that’s just me.

I also don’t like the babysitting, but I do like the pressure readout. It sure is nice to see a flat before you feel it, which is also why I gave a TPMS for the trailers I tow. At least the 3500’s has TPIS vs TPMS.

Why wouldn’t you put sensors in your summer tires?!

My dad didn’t put sensors on his winter/hunting tires on his ‘17. He’s had two flats that likely would have been noticed with a TPIS, but instead they weren’t. Now all his rims have sensors

Just got back from drive around the pressure are changing in all 4 tires, so it's reading them. I got a scan tool today but had to send it back to Amazon for replacement it was scratched up, missing USB cables and no operating book and no carrying case.

Because my Summer tires are "Nitto Dural Grappler" and I run the tires at 55PSI front and the rear tires at 45PSI when I am not towing, When towing the rears are inflated to 70PSI, which supports a load of 3415LBS per tire. With these tire pressures I would still get the low air tire symbol and ding every time I would start the truck. So, why pay and buy something that will not work in my 2008 truck. Remember this is Dodge/Ram first generation at this mandate from the FEDS.

Does it not show the pressure too? It’s been a while since I drove one to recall.

I thought the 3rd gens with TPMS had a light load button? The ones I’ve been in did. IIRC it’s set for 45 psi in the rear, don’t recall the front.

No; it is a just an idiot light and the light load button has never worked correctly on my truck! The was at two different dealerships for this issue but never could be resolved.

No light load button on my 4th gen. Had the threshold changed to 50# front 35# rear, no more bells and lights. Needed the pin # from the dealer to reset the rfh.

A very early 3rd gen truck, this truck does not have all of the same options to change things like the 4th gen trucks do. My truck was built in Sept 07, which I purchased new in Nov 2007. I had a lot of very early teething pains with the emission system and all of the new features that the 2007.5 trucks and up, had. These have for the most part been resolved to my satisfaction!

Return it, buy AlfaOBD.
Cost less, does more. Best platform for your vehicle.
