Hello.... all of my 6bt experience has been with manual transmission pickups.

I want to buy an auto pickup in the near future & I have been reading up on the Throttle Position Sensor utilized in the autos.

My questions are...
1. What happens if the TPS fails entirely? Is the pickup still drivable?

2. Does the TPS function the same in the RH & the RE?

3. In the event of an electronic failure on the 47RE, what are you left with in limp mode? (2nd & Reverse only?)

4. Are there any additional electronics or complexity to the 94-98 autos compared with the manual pickups.

The mechanical simplicity is what attracts me to the platform...my '97 4x4 with the nv4500 is exactly what I want but an Auto would be beneficial to me in certain circumstances.

Thanks in advance.

Timbo is for 98.5+

And there I prefer the WELLS TPS much better because it is a state of the art contactless design whereas the Timbo is the same as OEM.
