My truck threw a code for the tps and i replaced it. Shortly there after my VP-44 pump died of course. Put in new pump but now I am only getting 13 mpg. What is the calibration method for the TPS and do i need to get dealer to reflash my computer??? :--)

According to my 2001 Service manual (and what I have done) Disconnect batteries for 10 minutes and then reconnect. Turn on Ignition but DO NOT START, Slowy press down gas petal to the floor and release. your done ! You do want to note if you have a bad TPS (or now called an APS) after calibration of a TPS you might get a P code 122. As for the poor MPG a dealer reflash on my truck made my MPG WORSE :( .

Hope this helps

Kyle

There is a TPS recalibration instruction set on the DTT web site.

I did mine, it is not hard, very straight forward. Basically the TPS is manufactured and installed with a specific voltage value. You can adjust the TPS mounting somewhat to get the TPS back to the manufactured value. Each TPS has a different (or potentially so) manufactured value.
