Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) TPS I think ???

Well Here goes,

Last weekend I cleaned the engine with degreaser, BIG mistake LOL!

Now the trany will only go to O/D above 50 MPH with light throttle, 1-2 & 2-3 shifts seem to be OK.

I have searched all the forums on TPS adjustments etc and this is what I have done.

1, set the linkage to 5" from ball stud to plate, was out about 1/8" no diff

2, checked TPS voltage, at idle = 3. 27V W/O = 4. 32V, somthing is out here

3, added 500 ohm potentiometer as per Joe G's instructions, NO Diff NADA

IS my TPS totaled

I will check prices here at NAPA & the S*ealer.

Any suggestions?

It was the TPS

I had NAPA order one, had to be delivered from Montreal one day service.

It’s an expensive little gadget, luckily our company has a generous discount with this NAPA dealer, I will be frequenting them more often.



I checked the voltage and could only get 0. 89V, so I took out the sleeves and got 0. 97V, Drilled holes to 0. 297 Dia and got it on the money at 1. 2V, test drove it and works really good, I cant tell if the clutch is locking up will try that tomorrow on the way to work.



Now I just have to fix to Overdrive, that went out at the same time
