Well i just popped my 5th tps into DD and it got me thinking... why? Alternate circuits that attempt a compromise aside. Its just a $200 volume control (that wears out fast) that slings itself between +5 vdc and ground to tell the 'puter where the throttle's sitting. Ok, my $50 computer mouse can tell my computer where my hand is sitting-AND it's cleanable (the mouse and the hand) and lasts a loonnggg time since its optically based. Aren't any of us talented enough to do a James Dyson and put 'mouse guts' into a TPS housing to make a unit that will match the lives of our trucks? After all a mouse wheel has to record multiple revolutions, we just need something less than 360 degrees... Any takers? There might be a patent waiting!!
