Howard:

I saw your drawing in the TDR Mag for the potentiometer in the TPS circuit. You talk about the capacitors to put in the circuit but you don't show where they go or what size? Could you elaborate please? AND, do you encapsulate this assembly? or how do you protect it from moisture ??

Pat,

The drawing in the TDR is not the one that should have been included with the dialog.

Attached here is the one that shows the capacitors.

To be most effective, the capacitors should be connected to their respective circuits as close to the PCM as possible. They can be easily mounted inside a small electronics box that you can get at Radio Shack. Mount it as close to the PCM as is practical keeping the connecting wires as short as you can.

The potentiometer is connected close to the TPS. I mounted it inside a short piece of 1" PVC pipe that has a cap on each end. I used enough wire to enable me to mount it in a location that keeps it away from the heat and is easy to adjust.

You can see a picture of it in the thread on this forum entitled "TPS Puzzle".

I used the PVC pipe because it worked well where I wanted to mount it but most any type of enclosure will work and the length of wire that you use to relocate it is not critical.

Hope this helps,

Howard
