I was looking at TPS sensor say 98 threw 04 Have same part#s But have different connectors for sensor I was wondering anyone Could tell me Why have same part# sensors have different connectors Manufacturer Part Number: 53031575

Geno's says the same one fits 98-04. SNOKING

There is a small adapter harness that will be shipped for certain years. The APPS sensor will be the same for all years listed but the short harness will have a plug on the end of it that is specific to your year.

Look at the 4th picture of the eBay link you posted. The plug on the end of that little harness is what I am referring to.

Just re-read your post and you already found that and are asking why....Cummins just used the same part for those years and had to adapt to the different model changes that Dodge made. THis is not the only instance, the late 2nd gen fuel filter cartridges were compatible with 3rd gens, oil filters are the same for 89-current, why change something if it works.
