Hey family,

Winter storm came through last week for Texas, Friday I drove truck just fine in light melted snow slush no issues. Friday night Saturday morning it all refroze.

Saturday I started the truck just fine no issues there. Due to the ice and 2wd truck, spun the tires a few times getting to the main road outside of my neighborhood.

Didn't hear it or realize it until this morning when I got to work but my trac control light in the lower right corner of instru panel is staying on. NO ABS LIGHTS OR TRAC OFF LIGHTS. No codes but I don't have a code reader to pull ABS so I am going to pep boys after work for a free code pull. Cruise also does not work.

Anyone got a line out on the part number for the wheel speed sensors on the rear of a 2012 ram 2500? The vin is 3C6TD4CL1CG307988 if that helps. I found the part on the truck but looking at rock auto or moparpartsgiant.com the parts they list are not what I can see.

What I think are the wheel speed sensors are a screw and wire at the hub that run along the axle up to the frame and then plug in there. Online all show that there is the plug sensor at the wheel.

With 4 channel ABS there is a sensor at each wheel. I just looked at mine and the sensor looks very similar, if not identical, to the front sensor.

His truck is a 2012 according to his signature, if that makes any difference.

But, if it was a wheel sensor then the ABS light should be lit.

Does it say off under the light? If so have you tried turning it back on with the traction control button “ESC”?

If its just the light it can often take several drives and key cycles to clear the fault. You will need to get some miles and speeds above 30.

I’m sure there are differences from 12-18, just pointing out the similiarity front to rear for easier identification.

Correct, it should throw an ABS light with a malfunctioning WSS.

LtngDrvr,

No ABS light and I found the ABS wheel sensors all look the same front to back. And yes there is a sensor on the diff but I think that is for the Speedo?

AH64ID,

I ended up going to a shop and there were so many codes in the system. The ABS code was for a G sensor fault but yet again the ABS light and the Trac off light never lit once. Only the traction control light in the lower right corner was lit. We ended up just clearing all the codes in the system and I've put about 45 miles on the truck thus far this morning and still hasn't come back.

I even had door body module codes and AC heat codes but everything has been working just fine. Think we saw like 5 pages of just random codes and faults. lol

Sounds like there could be a ground fault somewhere. Or a bad module.

I think there was a one point. A long while back I had an issue with my ABS and trac lights going on and off. AH64ID helped me locate the ground in the wheel well so I removed that and cleaned it all up and swapped out the batteries and they lights stopped coming on and off. I think that's where the faults must have come from.

Sometimes there are ghost lights, that happens.
Don't think to much into it as long as it isn't staying on solid and as a permanent code.
Often it helps just to disconnect the batterys to reboot all systems.

I hope your truck has all available updates done so far, a lot of the updates are addressed to such faults.

I believe that it does have all updates. it was at the dealer in August for all the recalls that needed to be done that I was putting off.
