I need a track bar replacement, OEM was shot, replaced with a $50 Moog and 3k miles later it has about 0.5" of lateral movement in it was well. I do not have hard off road use, and only tow occasionally. Surely there is a track bar solution out there that isn't $50 junk or the $500 extreme duty off road solution. Truck has 150k miles on it, most use is a daily driver. I probably need tie-rod ends and drag link too, but again the choices seem to be super cheap or super expensive extreme duty. What is the best solution for a daily driver with occasional towing and rare off-road use?

With a track bar or steering they are either made cheaply like Moog or made right, there really is no in-between. IMO you cant beat a Thuren track bar, it might cost a bit more but will last a lot longer then 3k miles and wont break in half like I have seen multiple Moog bars do.

It doesn't take a lot of parts store track bars to end up at the same money as buying a good one the first time. I played that game with my 2nd gen, I was even able to replace some of the cheap ones under warranty. That was roughly once a year. I put a Carli on my 3rd gen 10 years ago and haven't had to touch it.

Don't get too hung up on the "off road use" aspect, it really doesn't matter how much dirt the truck sees. There is a ton of weight up front that the track bar has to control regardless of the driving surface.

Make the 2 1/2 tons+/- on the front!

I put a Moog track bar & other front end parts on my 06 back in 2020, I put 10K on it before I sold it in Jan of this year, last I heard its still working well for the new owners who have put another 8K on it with no reported problems...
