That Ebay item is listed incorrectly. Those are control arms not track bars.

For a stock height truck, it is hard to beat the lifetime warranty and the price of the Moog Track Bar from your local Advance Auto store. They are $100 and some change. I can't recall the part number at the moment, but I'm sure someone will post it.

If you have a lifted truck, the DT seems to be the way to go.

Thanks,

Ryan

I have not personally seen a Moog track bar in person, so I can't compare it to my Dt track bar. But, I look at it like this. Lifetime warranty or not, unless your truck goes head on with a Bull moose or a locomotive, you will never have a need to replace the DT track bar :D

Tom,

I do not own a DT bar, so please correct em if I am wrong.

True the DT bar never needs replacement, but it may need to be rebuilt correct? I know DT sells rebuild kits for the bar, or do they give them away as a warranty part? Either way something wears out and needs attention. Same with the Moog. Eventually it will wear out. Take it off and get a new one. Simple as that.

Don't get me wrong, from what I know about it I think the DT bar is great, especially for a lifted truck, but on a stock truck I don't quite see how it would be utilized to it's potential. In that case, I think it is hard to beat the Lifetime warranty Moog bar. JMHO.

Take care,

Ryan

Cooker,

You make a very good point. I have only had mine on for about 5 months/6000 or so miles, and I only know of a couple guys who also have the DT bar, and so far no one i know of has had to do anything to it. It is certainly logical to assume that with either time (lots of miles) and/or the right amount of abuse (off roading, etc. ) any track bar will eventually wear out and need service or replacement. So it really may be just as cheap in the long run to go with the Moog or other lifetime replacement bars.

I have a 2 1/2" Skyjacker lift, but I don't do a lot of off-roading with my truck. I go hunting a couple times a year.

I replaced the tracr bar on my 95 with 40,000 miles on it. It was still on the truck when I sold it with 198,000 miles. I greased it every oil change at 5,000 miles. Wouldn't hesitate to buy one again. It was the moog track bar. Jeff

It's funny that people are getting such varying info on the Moog bars, here's what I read, it was almost an advertisment, the kind where you circle the number on the reader service card.

From the November/December 2001 issue of

Repair Shop Product News, New Products page;

"Dodge track bar

An advanced, high-strength replacement track bar engineered to handle heavy lateral loads has been introduced by Moog Chassis Parts, the leading brand of steering and suspension components from Federal-Mogul Corp. The new track bar (Part Nos. DS1413 and DS1256) carries a life-time warranty and features a significantly larger socket that is ideally suited to the lateral loads encountered in 4-wheel drive Dodge Rams. In many cases, the original equipment track bars-which feature a less robust ball socket-can experience excessive socket movement of more than . 080 inches of play, causing wheel shimmy and road wander. "

People here have reported a warranty ranging from none to lifetime and prices from $100 to $300

I have about a month and a half on a new style DT bar. It is the only option that was reliable and easy to center my axle. I have been very happy

I've installed the Luke's Link and it works great. Very solid. No movement at the frame end what so ever. It is designed to allow for wear by inserting washers to take up any tolerances that might develope. The only negitive is I had to grind on it some so it wouldn't hit the front diff. cover. There's plenty of material, so this doesn't weaken it at all. Two thumbs up. :D

Have you considered Big O?

Big O Tires generally has a lifetime warranty, including labor, on their suspension parts. My father's car needed new half-shafts and we were all set to do the job ourselves when, on a whim, we decided to call Big O and see what their price was. To make a long story short, the cost was very reasonable and the LABOR is ALSO GUARANTEED for the life of the vehicle.
