Replaced my track bar the other day... ..... Now i have a clunking noise when i go around corners and when i wiggle the wheel and watch the front end i seems to move the chassis back and forth a little bit before the wheels move. The track bar seems to have no play in it. Any Ideas

How much torque did you put on the track bar? I had the same problem in my 3rd gen after taking mine off and reinstalling it (trying to cure death wobble. ). Unless you have a 3rd gen bar, the torque numbers are probably different, but on my 3rd gen, I had to torque the bolts to 120 or 140 ft/lbs (can't remember which). Once properly torqued, the clunk went away. Even wit the clunk, I couldn't detect any play in the track bar.

More info

We need more info Matson. What type of track bar did you put on? Was it a OE DC? If it was aftermarket, what brand was it? Why did u decide to install a new track bar? First glance I gotta agree w/ Andyman, needs to be seated more. U said front end seems loose. Have you examined the ball joints?

Let us know what u find.

Money was short so I went with the store brand. Figured i should replace the lift pump instead of getting the high end trac bar. I will double check the torque on the track bar. My ball joints i just did 5k ago. The front axle seemed to move side to side like the track bar is junk. But that is why i replaced it. The Joint at the axle was bad. so if the one i put in doesn't work i will just get a good one or upgrade to the third gen bar. THanks for the advice will let you know more tommorow night.

Alex
