The NAPA trackbar ($180) is better in that it carries a lifetime warranty, works for me. There are a few others out there that are made better though.

Track bar / replacement?

I replaced the trackbar on my 96 with a Moog. Had to have the whole frontend rebuilt, because I could not get rid of the DEATH WOBBLE. Ordered the Lukes Link(50. 00) installed on the factory T/B and frontend is all better. Save yourself some money and order the Lukes Link(50. 00). It is adjustable so if and when the play comes into your T/B tighten it /readjust it. It beats the hell out of spending (200. 00) for a trackbar and the problem is the tiny ballend. Also as more ball joints wear you can replace them with the Lukes Link kits, and keep a tight frontend. I wish that I would have known about the Lukes Link sooner,I would have saved hundreds of dollars in repairs.

Bought and installed a DT track bar about a month ago to deal with the "death wobble" problem. It is a quality piece of work. Chrome plated heavy tubing in the middle, threaded and anodized ends with a heim joint on the end attaching to the frame. Was about $300. Did this and increased caster by about 3-4 degrees and is nice a solid again.

Have to agree with Kurt. My next investment is a DT Track Bar. I plan on going a little higher with my lift, so I figured it would start to wear joint end of factory track bar easily. Don't want to use a Lukes Link kit. In my opinion, this is a band-aid fix. You are just removing slop on worn out weakened pieces. This might be alright on stock height with stock tires, but I wouldn't trust it on my truck. Once again, this is my opinion, for my trucks application. This may work well for others.

I also have the DT Track Bar, looks sweet. I don't know what it exactly did for me as I put it on with a stock truck that didn't have a problem. Then lifted it.

Any clearance concerns???

I'm interested in the DT, but worried that it may cause clearance problems with the Mag-Hytec front cover..... if and when it ever comes out :(

For those of you who have gone to DT is there any difference in the clearance with the stock cover compared to the stock track bar??

TIA

Looks like these track bars are not the strongest part of the truck mine was replaced under warranty by the dealer at 35K, lucky I have a 100K warranty. Guess theymight be doing it again before the warranty is up. What do you notice with a bad track bar besides the tire wear?
