I have a 99 2500 and the steering is getting real sloppy. I've been told that the most likely culprit is the track bar. I've got 118,000 miles on it. Can anyone tell me a good brand of trackbar and where to buy it?

Is it a job that you can do yourself or do you need special tools to install it?

Thanks, Pete:confused:

Yea, you can do it yourself,I replaced mine already I bought a moog brand, it seems to be fine for now we'll see in time. I heard some other guys buying their's from NAPA, they said it's lifetime warantied. That's prbobly the best way to go.

Also there's more on the subject on page 2 in the thread section, Under tracking bar.

I got mine from CarQuest and think it is the same as the stock. I even traded my stock unit for the core charge when I went to get my third unit at 90K miles. I got a unlimited warranty and it was half the price of the one from Dodge.

The Napa unit has a lifetime warranty and is highly recommended by the members that have used it. The luke's link is also highly recommended and should be somewhere around $50 to return your trackbar to new. Personally I am buying the Luke's link instead of a trackbar next time mine needs changed.
