Would like input from those who have installed Linstad adjustable track bars. Need your opinion concerning quality & durability of this bar.

hey Jack, have you used the search on this site to find your answer? You might want to try that function as I think I read an earlier post on that item. Just a thought!!!

I have never heard of the linstad trac bar !!

I can say you will find a lot of the DT trac bar if you do a search.

I bought the Linstad trac bar kit a few months ago. The install was pretty easy, took an hour or two. I haven't checked it since I put it on. I debated a life time warranty one from NAPA for around $125-135, but I like the fact that the Linstad can be adjusted without removing it from the truck and taking the time to return it to NAPA for a new one. I think I paid $62 + $5 shipping. Sorry I don't have the web site address, do a search and you'll find it.

Jack- I've had a Lindstat installed since August, so far no problems. Did improve the handling. Have a suspicion that the 'cup' (frame end] is larger profile than oem and may at times strike the front pumpkin cover, but no major problems evident. Really liked dealing with the company, quick, ship by USPS for a fair price, prompt core return credit [Yep, ya just slap a label on the old bar, wipe the grease off, and hand it to the Post Office!].

(The following is a response to an email I recieved about the Linstad Kit. )

Linstad offers a rebuilt track bar for around $125 exchange, or you can buy a kit to do it yourself for $62. The kit requires grinding and welding. I do not foresee ever having to replace it. It is adjusted by removing a cotter pin, and screwing in a plug which puts pressure on the ball and cup inside the joint. It also replaces the OE plastic ball with a metal one. Their web site is:

The link seems to be broken now. There are instructions and details on their site.

I have a linstead track bar, it was easy to install, when the front-end feels loose just tighten the ball-joint down. There is a company (DT Track bar) its a fixed mounted bar that does away with the ball joint, looks like a better fix for the replacement of the track bar the cost is about $250. 00 if I remember right. They have a web site I found in the TDRoundtable.
