Competition NHRDA, Fletcher wins again!

Competition Possible Future Build-

I am confused... maybe one of you could be so kind and explain my confussion . . I was talking to the owner of a track ... I wont mention any names ... and he told me that they dont allow diesels on the track because they damage the track ... ... .

Perhaps an asphalt track and they are worried about erosion of the tar due to diesel fuel spills?

Just a guess - the only one I can think of.

From my understanding, it is true that a lot of NHRA folks do not like the diesels. I've been told that it's because of the oil that our exhausts put out, not actual surface degradation per se.

I've done my best to be respectful and abide by all rules. I put in a stack to get my exhaust out of my opponent's way, as well as try to spare the starters. The NHRA has taken us seriously enough to start changing rules (my truck was a main focus of the crankshaft centerline height controversy; rule changed), so we should continue to do right by them.

If you are not being allowed to run at an NHRA track, you should call your NHRA Division tech director. You will find contact information on the NHRA web site. Don't be afraid to do this; every person counts toward our cause!

Please let us know how this progresses. It's important!

Thanks Rhonda ..... I am trying to find 3-4 tracks in FL so that I can set something up for next year ... When I called this track I was given that answer ..... I will make it happen ... . but I must get the beast built first ... .

You know, you may want to roll in there sometime when there's some generic racing going on. Don't ask, but maybe take an NHRA rulebook (join if you have to) with you. When they refuse you due to tech, ask them to specify the rule (nicely), and you'll have something to reference. I like the idea of asking first, but frankly, a lot of tech's wouldn't know a diesel if it ran up and bit them on the ***, which it is likely to do).

Thanks for keeping us updated, RR :)
