What's available. Trying to pull my cousins Furd out today in the snow with just 2 tires "really" spinning in 4 wheel drive wasn't fun. Would like to have both tires pull in the rear when I "need" them too.

I have the stock LSD and it works AWESOME!!!!!! They are not all that expensive either, might be able to get one out of a boneyard really cheap.

I have the "anti slip differential" listed on my original factory window sticker (ya was still in the glove box and I'm 3rd owner)

Usually it works great on grass and dirt and such but today in the snow it just plain SUCKED!

Do you think maybe changing my rear diff lube would help?

Yes, it will most likely help. Don't add any friction modifier and drive it a while. The previous owner or the dealer probably got a little happy with the modifier. If you start getting chatter on turns shoot me a message and I will go through getting the right amount of modifier in it.

Well if I change the lube I was planning on Amsoil which doesn't need modifier.

I run the Amsoil also with no modifier...

another thing . . the clutch pack might be worn to a low tolerance now. . might need to rebuild it... try the oil replacement first

I dunno. I hope not. I got into a spot tonight on a road where I backed up to turn around (stopped traffic) and when I backed into this old abandoned driveway the truck just SANK in the snow. Reached down and yanked the lever and I "THOUGHT" it engaged fully but it didn't. Didn't know why I was having such a hard time getting out. Really almost stopped and called somebody. Anyhow I got it out with a lot of rocking and lot of pedal. Traffic coming up from behind stopped to let me out and watch. Two guys in 2 seperate furds gave me a thumbs up when I got out and went on my way. :--) :D

Pulled into my driveway and got out and got the mail and when I took off the truck went totally sideways so I knew something was wrong. Reached down and pushed the lever forward then pulled it back and I felt my exterior speaker for my CB lieing in the shifter boot move this time and felt the click of the four wheel drive engaging. :--)

That was pretty good getting out of where I was in just 2wd! But I gotta mount that dang speaker!
