Why I love my Duramax so much!!!

Am I alone ?

I have a 5. 9 out of a 90' Diesel truck. My father and I were told at a truck and tractor pull last year that there is a place in Indiana that makes motor adaptor plates to fit our 5. 9 Cummins motors in to tractors. Does anyone know of this place or a place like it? We are wanting to fit the 5. 9 in to an IH 656.

I don't know about the place in Indiana, but we also make adapter plates to put Cummins into IH, and John Deere tractors. If I'm not badly mistaken, no-one else has made Cummins fit the 20 Series JD without serious mods to the tractor. Our only modification to the tractor on the JD is to shorten the hydraulic pump mounting, we use original radiator holes, etc. IH is a reletively easy conversion. Ray

They were probably talking about Hunley Sales & Service. I think they made their name repowering AC's, but now they do JD, White and others. Its a shame to take the twin pipes and turbos off of a 8550 AC. The phone number is (812) 794-2271. They are located in Austin, IN.

Do you have a line on finding used 5. 9's? I would really like to put one in my other truck. As far as I know all of the insurance auctions around here are only available to dealers, and I don't know of any reasonable junk yards that would have one.

Brian,
Don't know where to find any 5. 9's. When I bought my 97', I bought it and another. My truck was burnt and the other was a parts truck. Both had a good drivetrain and so I had a good motor left that we are putting in a 90' that dad bought. Now I just have a 90 5. 9 left over.

Hunley does great work. We had a AC 8070 that they threw a 8. 3 into. It had a little power. I know nothing about tire smoke on a tractor. I also know nothing about how far you can pull a wheelie. Or anything about log chains after tractor day at school.
