Big,
Does it have the fender fuel tanks?
Bud

YES!! have been a little occupied as of late and have been doing some resto work on the Olly. I can tell you that those big xxx tires and wheels aren't lite. Had new tires put on and in the process we put on new brakes and axle seals one was leaking and ruined the brake on that side. Been tearing it apart power washing YEARS of crud off & then sandblasting and finally priming so when the time comes weather permitting I can paint and put things back together. Replaced lots of Hyd lines, hoses to the two remotes and trying to find someplace to purchase the info stickers that were on it when new IMO that makes for a finished look on any resto job. After replacing the 4, 6V batteries & cabling it sure starts better.

Thanks! I've bought a few things for other tractors from them, Ill need to look into them after I account for all of the stickers as I pull them off make notes of what ones went where & what ones are needed.

Big,
Does your Oliver have the PTO housing hanging out the back, with a yoke for the top link? That’s how mine is. It made it impossible to hook my Danuser post hole digger. I made this to facilitate the post hole digger. I also made a boom pole that will lift to eleven feet. I also made an extension to go on the boom pole. It’s really handy when removing the bed from a pickup.

No mine has the regular 3 point type hitch on it, although MUCH BIGGER than any of the other tractors. It has two Hyd remotes one on each side I'm not really sure what I could use them both for. I did use 1 when I used the IH plow to raise & lower the bottoms

I sure wish the PTO clutch housing on mine was internal. I work around it, but it took some problem solving. The three point is category two. 4440 is category three, and probably what yours is. I wasn’t sure if they did the bigger Olivers the same way as mine.

Both of my tractors have two remotes. I only use one with the Oliver when I pull a folding harrow. On the JD, my 20' batwing mower uses both - one to raise and lower the decks and one to fold the wings.

I'd really like to own a Batwing mower but then I wouldn't have a excuse for some extended XXX time in the seat to think about how fortunate I am for having the opportunity, IMO its the best sort of relaxation there is.

We are lucky, you and I, to have the desire and tools to live this way. I can’t imagine how I’d survive, living in town.

I've always loved working in a farm setting. As a kid I couldn't wait for summer vacation from school so I could go to North Platte Nebraska to work on my Grandfathers farm. Got to do things that most kids weren't even exposed to until their late teens, IF THEN!!

Even in Southern-Communist-Fornia having 5 acres was my little bit of heaven where we could raise a Steer, Hog, Chickens. MANY TIMES I was ready to leave but Penny (being the smart one ) got me to stay, she use to say at least we don't live elbow to elbow like other city dwellers. Being a country girl she liked the city in the sense that she had shopping, dining, dancing, beaches, mountains all within a couple of hours, SHE DIDN'T HAVE TO WORK IN THE SEPTIC TANK AND WITNESS FIRST HAND THE AXX HOLES THAT EXISTED, EXECPT THE ONE SHE HAD WILLINGLY MARRIED.

Hi Guy's Gail left his laptop open and I noticed this young mans picture, Gail likes his music.

I can testify that He has indeed Picked his guitar on the front porch when the sun was rising, GENERALLY EVERYDAY WHILE I FIX HIS BREAKFAST.
He made me cry when he noticed a mom telling her child that they couldn't afford whatever it was she wanted because they didn't have the money. Standing in line she was at the register next to us, Gail made his way around to the counter and told the cashier that this should take care of this Mothers Grocery bill & laid down a credit card and the candy that her child had wanted. She said that she couldn't do that!! Gail said your right she needs 2 more not just one.

BSeyler, a 4440 has a catagory 3N/catagory 2. A 4240 has a cat 2/ cat 1, a 4640 is cat3/3N. My 4440 and 4230 with a M+W turbo added shared the same equipment, so I bought the cat 2 ball ends to keep from having to use adapter spacers. Cat 2 and 3N are the same width, not height. I kinda got the impression that you hadn't had this tractor too long and you mostly used it for "batwinging". I just want to encourage you and Big to take nothing for granted and not get hurt.

My father in law bought the 4440 new. He quit farming and went strictly to cattle many years ago, so the whole farm is back to grass. He also was a cattle order buyer. He died in 2006 and we moved to the farm shortly afterward. Clipping pastures and mowing the road ditches is what we use it for. I’m the only one who runs it.

A fun tidbit, wife wants a garden. Pulled out the TroyBuilt. DieHard battery still connected not started for at least 5 years. 8 volts, HMMMMM. Threw a charger on it and added a bit of water to 3 cells the other 3 were full. Next morning fired right off!
