I have been reading some post on some drag racing websites about running hydrostatic fluid for a tractor in automatic transmissions. The general concensus is that it firms up shifts and reduces slippage. There are also reports of it lowering operating temperatures.

Most of the people using it are using it in racing trans, but there are quite a few running it in street cars and tow rigs as well.

Anyone on here ever try it? Sounds like it might have potential to help keep a stock transmission from dying so soon.

I think Joe G. mentioned to me one time that he does this and has some written info regarding the advantages of doing so. He's not a racer but does do some towing. Joe-----are you out there?

This is interesting. I remember a quite a few years ago I tried it in an '83 chev impala. All we wanted was to limp home. It slipped so bad we hardly made it. Now I'm interested in hearing what others have to say cuz I figgered it don't work. Hope someone chimes in with more info.
