It is time to replace the elements in the tractor lights I use for back up lights as one has burned out. Does anyone know of higher intensity units that will fit a standard round tractor housing??

Thanks
Ted

Got to shine soem fear into the eyes of tailgaters:D

I have used the aircraft landing lights, the local fleet store had em on their shelf, it is the same ones my uncle uses on his cessna and they work great and handle vibration without a problem. Fits right in a standard rubber housing.

I thought they were ok, really nice in open areas, I went back to regular tractor floods because of the cheaper price. They work well too. He just wanted to know about other options that fit.

I think the standard lamps in those are 35 watt. I believe the aircraft landing lights are 100 watt . I know the 6" ones were.

If you go to a good auto parts store (napa maybe) or look on line , (GE, Sylvania) you should be able to find a sealed beam catalog and see what is still made for those . I know spotlight lamps used to be made in that size also.

thanks guys I am looking for a higher wattage beam but not going over board and it still has to have a wide enough pattern to be functional as a back up light. I think the one in there now are 35 watt trap beams. any other suggestion would be appreciated. Are air craft landing lights spot beams? I do power these with a relay so some more wattage is not an issue with how they are wired.

Thanks
Ted

I THINK the 4x6 tractor lights at the farm stores are 55 watt. Available spot, beam, flood. Tried to check tractor supply stores for you ,but no watt specification given online

.........

I currently have 100 watt spots for loading lights on my flatbed. It helps for hooking up trailers at night, working on equipment or anything else you need to see for after dark. I found these at the local truck parts store, they are used on logging trucks around here. I believe they also come in 35, 55, and 100 for either spot or flood. Some places stock different ones but can order the others. Not positive, just my . 02, hope yo find what works for you.
