drice,

Thanks for posting the dates. My source told me it was the "first weekend in August" and I have been making plans to go this weekend.

Barring any catastrophe between now and then, I'll be there.

Where can I get a copy of the rules? Do they allow hanging weights? What are the classes? Hitch height?

-Chris

I think i would like to go, but that's the weekend that marks 3 years with my girl. Maybe I could convience her of a nice trip out that way.

:)

Andrew

Jim and Merrick, go get a map. ;) De Leon is about halfway between Waco and Abilene, a long way from Houston.

Chris, it's pretty much a bunch of street trucks. Nobody was using weights last year. I don't think there is a hitch height rule either, as I don't think they checked my truck.

I might to have to haul hay that Sat. , but I'm going to try my hardest to make it. :( Maybe Friday if nothing else.

Brian

Chris: the say its the first full weekend in Aug so when they say full I guess that is suppose to include thursday because the pulls start thursday. come on up it would be good to see ya again.

Andrew: just tell her that I'm going to be here I'm sure she has been missing me :p

Merrick:its about 4 1/2- 5 hours from huston I think it is straight up highway 6 just a short little drive if nothing we can go do burn outs in downtown

I don't know about weights(hanging) I don't think there is a hitch height rule. there are classes for diesel only they don't go by wieght I beleive. they did weigh us last year but all the diesels went against each other.

someone needs to come there is a 1ton flat bed 4x4 that wins it every year and I don't I am going to have the traction to beat him and I'm not sure if I even have the power (didn't get anything done to the truck that I was planning).

Shrimpy: come on up you wil have a good time.

Brian: come on I plan on being there all three nights or until I blow something up (maybe a HX -35) :rolleyes:

Yeah, I was going to say something about that flatbed, but I had just got back from the optomitrist and could barely see what I was typing and got frustrated. :mad:

From what one of the guys working there last year, that flatbed has one several years. He was 2 trucks or so in front of me and the guy started to tell me about him when he was getting hooked to the sled. He said that it's used to haul rock at a quarry or something like that. About then the truck was getting ready to pull and got the rpm's up and slipped the clutch like he had a dual disc and knew what he was doing. :eek: I did'nt expect that out of that truck.

There are no weight classes, but the cut-off is'nt 8800 lbs. It's more like 8000. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but at weigh in last year I did'nt have much to spare @ 7800-7900 lbs. I'll have to put the truck on a diet this year as it's gained a little weight.

Daniel, I'll have to get off an hour or so early on Friday to make it, but it might be the only way to pull this year.

Sounds like Chris has something to play with. Oh I wish I had 4wd. :{

Looks like if we all go it will be the Young Guns of Texas. Just need to get that Harlan kid to show up. ;)

Looks like I will ask the girl even though I think I already know the answer, my chain is kinda tight this time of year. :{

Holy smokes, you mean you got that truck back together? Didn't know there was that much J. B. Weild in them woods. That and I didn't know you posted on the TuRD. :p

On the other hand, I told my girl, and she goes, "A tractor pull on our aniversay? All I can say is that you better take me to a REALLY nice dinner!"

Oh man, she said it. But in reality, that means, "If you take me to a (bleeping) pull, I'm going to wax your (bleep)!"

Andrew

awsome

looks like it is going to be a great turn out this year maybe we can give that flatbed a run for his money. (I've heard 2 rumors about that truck 1st yes he does hual rock with it rumor 1 it has a freightline injection pump in it. rumor 2 it has a freightliner ENGINE in it. ) WOW don't knwo if either of these are true but I've heard both of these rumors more than once maybe we will have to surround him and find out.

Brian: just work one hour later thursday :p . it would be good to see ya again.

wel Andrew the good part is that see doesn't expect you to understand what she ment so its ok to play dumb.

But for future reference I think you should change the date:D

Jerry sounds awsome will see yall there.
