I have been reading about the CaTCHer, and it seems everybody who has one loves it. And I like the idea of it not killing my VP. But would it be worth the switch? I know you can get the"special" to run with the Comp. I was wondering what everybodys thoughts were? Guys with both, or just the CaTCHer. Any help would be great.

I really like mine, throttle response is as good as a gas motor. Better response, quicker turbo spool-up, no boost fooler required like a EZ. Never had a Comp, I'm more of a towing guy than a racer with this thing. Depends on what you want to use it for. Best mod yet!!!

If I were in your shoes, I would keep the comp and order the Catcher.

I liked mine on my 02 , but it also is comparable to the EZ box. Actually less hp than he ez was , but it "felt" better driving. With the comp box you can turn it off,..... if you take off the comp, you cant turn off the catcher.

I believe the Catcher also has different version(s) for timing if you decide to get a Catcher, make sure whom you buy it from, they know what your running

I knew about the one for use with the Comp. Not sure if I would need the Comp with my future plans. The CaTCHer would be nice to spool a bigger turbo when I get one, and then the bigger sticks for once it's spooling. Just wondering if the CaTCHer would be better for my plans.

I just replaced my ez with the catcher. Oo. I love it. If I had to do it all over again I would have never have purchased the ez. I have never driven a Comp truck so I can't compare them. I just can't wait to install some bigger injectors. I think that would be perfect. The driveability and the spool up is awsome with the catcher, better than the ez was.

BDR, Marco has always said his ECM fueling curve was designed for the lower rpm to keep up with the lead footed soccer mom's in town off the light.

With injectors turbo and Marco's ECM I very seldom turn on the comp around town. But, if you want to blow away someone on the freeway the upper end of the comp is the way to go.

So it all depends on which way you want to go. Fun around town or put your back in the seat at WOT or maybe both.

I'm not real clear on your plans. If you want a tow rig, daily driver; I'd go catcher, Mach 1. 6 or 2's and a larger turbo. If you want a racer or puller, I'd post this in the Comp Forum and let the guys that do it give advice.

If you have the wire tapped with your comp and your transmission is still going well you are lucky. I hurt mine with an ez and DDII's 50k back.

I like the mad ECM and the ability to take-off quick and do it with throttle control, not mash the long peddle, when I want it. You have a good box, just be ready to do other stuff to get it the ground and keep it cool. Mike

I have the wire tapped, no transmission problems so far. But a full DTT is next. Don't tow with my truck, and hit the 1/4 mile every now and then. Maybe more often after I get my truck built. Just looking for a fun street truck. My plans would be a HTB2, Mach 4s, head work (studs, gasket or o-rings). Just trying to get stuff figured out, what would work best for my truck. Thanks for the help so far fellas.

I was also reading that the "special" w/ the Comp would be better suited for runnin twins. I don't plan on twins. So I was thinking it might be a better set-up w/o the Comp and runnin the standard.

Unless you need the $$ from the sale of the comp to get the catcher I would keep it. You don't have to use it all the time, but it would be nice to have once in a while.

I have the CaTCHER and love it. Plan on injectors and a turbo upgrade soon. However, if I were you and already had a Comp, I would not switch. I doubt I would add a special catcher either. (less timing so it works with Comp) Because, after all the threads out there on this subject, I have the impression that a CaTCHER's benefit is from both the maximum timing it gives and the fueling. With the Comp doing some of both the Catcher without timing has a lot of its potential already filled by that Comp. It does add more but not $500 more.

The Comp is also adjustable so that if you have massive injectors and low-boost smoke issues, you can put it sublevel-1 and defuel for take-offs.

Again, the catcher is the way I want to start my buildup. But for someone who already has a Comp, keep it unless you have the kind of money some do and can change $900 injectors every few months, then you can do what ever you want!
