I am sorry to say that I traded my 05 2500 Big Horn fro a 2006 Subaru WrX STI. I am also sorry to say that although I loved the truck, I don't really miss the truck. Two weeks ago I sold my 91 CTD snow plow truck so Now I have no doges in the drive, bummer. I am sorry that I bought a Japanese car but there is no American Made auto in this class. All I can say is that my STI is quite possibly the funnest and baddest all round vehicle I have ever owned. It is an amazing vehicle. What can you say about a car that will zero to sixty in 4. 5 seconds, run a 13. 2 quarter, gets 24 on the highway and can be driven in fairly heavy snow. I have managed to keep it under 130 so far. I am going to buy an older Dakota this weekend but most likely will end up with a MEGA cab sooner or later. David L.

Well I catch hell from my coworkers about the big wing, but they have no idea what an STI is. The car is so quiet, no bumble bee muffler and has excellent ground clearence.

I like those cars too, but hate the ricer wing on them. Do they sell them without the wing?

BTW, my '05 Corvette sucks for snow but it ran 12. 40s @ 114 stock, and gets 30 mpg on the highway ;)

That wrx sti is a totally nice ride! Have FUN! Join an SCCA club and autocross it at the very least you'll have a blast!

Your the second guy i know thats traded in his CTD on one of those. He's bombing it by making his own boost controller system, as a protoype/tester for his turbo sleds... .

The WRX is not a JAP car. it's an AUSSIE car.

The boxer motor is by far the best sounding 4 cylinder out there.

There are some nice exhausts for that car that sound good.

BTW, with a real driver that understands the AWD of the STI, I don't think there is much a vette could do on a road track with tight corners. No way a RWD car can outpull an AWD though a corner. The Audi RS6 cars prove this all the time.

And for the cost of the STI vs Vette. yeah. STI.

I still want a Z06 tho, maybe a 911 turbo. Donations?

there are some very nice sounding exhaust systems avalable for them. . there are several wrx's/sti's in my area that have aftermarket exhaust on them, and almost all with aftermarket bov's on them too. . they do sound good. . [although i ran across a guy with a japan imported r32 skyline. . now that lil' I6 sounds great with exhaust, better than the subi's]

What a coincidence- I've been thinking about getting one of these myself. Or maybe the EVO. Not sure about letting the truck go, though. But looking for better MPG's and some fun.

My buddy is a Subaru dealer here in Carlsbad,Ca. You're going to have fun and enjoy great dependability with that car! I drive a 4-cyl. 98 Honda Accord and aside from the 5-speed it is BORING! I've been on the freeway and have been astounded by the performance of these vehicles! Super safety record which is a must here in SoCal. Best of luck to you!

First... ..... Dam the others and enjoy the new ride. For those of you that don't know, Subaru is not a Aussie car, it's as Japanese as they come, parent owner is Fuji Motors. There is some simularits thou, both Subaru and Cummins builds in Indiana! It's a stretch I know. And O yell, If someone comes up and tells you he just waxed a Subie, smack him and send him on his wat, cause he's been lian fer sure. The STI is the offical bad boy, 300HP and like they said 0-60 in 4. 5 seconds. But it doesn't stop there they have the WRX, with it's impressive performance, and even my car the Outback 2. 5 XT does 0-60 in 5. 9 seconds in a wagon. Yes the Cummins is nice with it's turbo, but you haven't been bit by the turbo bug till you got on one of these babes. Yes the take premium fuel, but if your going to go, go in style.

Thats a nice car but I dont understand the trade here. I guess if this car meets your needs then you didnt need a CTD anyway. I would love to have that subaru AND my CTD. That subaru isnt going to help much when I'm camping or hunting so it surely isnt a replacement.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I drive a 4 door 4x dually every day. I can't imagine wanting to get in one of those little roller skates. To each his own ...

New for 07 is the STI stealth with no ID badges and a small wing. Oh yea, Leather also. I,d be pretty ahppy with 12. 4s

I drove an EVO but it rode too rough and scraped the front end going back into the dealership. The nose on the STI sets two inches higher. The EVO is, in my opinion too boxy compared to the STI and I didn't like have to run 21 lbs of boost in the 2l compared to 14 in the 2. 5l STI. I have been a pretty big mitsu fan after owning several conquests and Starions. For me the STI is a better all round vehicle since I drive on some mountain roads and in the snow quite a bit

What I meant is that I really like to buy American. The car is made by Fuji heavy industries in Japan. I can't understand why there is no American made competitor. I need to find me a truck but can't get the smile off my face from driving the STI.
