JATO Rocket-Powered Car Story

A police officer (who shall remain nameless) pulled over a red Porsche
after it had run a stop sign, "May I see your driver's license and
registration please?"

"What's the problem, officer?" snapped the motorist.

"Your just ran the stop sign back there at the last intersection. "

"Oh, come on pal, there wasn't a car within miles of me," countered the
driver.

"Nevertheless sir, you are required to come to a complete stop, look
both ways, and proceed with caution. "

"You gotta be kidding me!" barked the offender.

"It's no joke, sir. "

"Look, I slowed down almost to a complete stop, saw no one within twenty
miles, and proceeded with caution," argued the driver.

"That's beside the point, sir. You are supposed to come to a complete
stop, and you didn't. Now if I may see your license and... "

"You've got a lot of time on your hands, PAL!" interrupted the
belligerent motorist. "What's the matter, all the doughnut shops
closed?"

"Sir, I'll overlook that last comment. Let me see your license and
registration immediately!"

"I will, if you can tell me the difference between slowing down, and
coming to a complete stop. "

The police officer had enough, "Sir, I can do better than that. " He
opened the car door, dragged the obnoxious motorist out, and proceeded
to methodically beat him over the head with his nightstick. "Now sir,
would you like me to slow down or come to a complete stop?"

chrgr446, no doubt about the truth, goes a long way and is seldom heard anymore. It's real easy for me to write a driver that's beligerent and lying, an honest "sorry, I wasn't paying attention and I apolgize" for minor moving infractions will usually get a warning, at least from me.

Good job. Just the facts, that's what I like. Kind of reminded me of Dragnet.

I got a ticket last July 4th weekend from a state trooper in the Texas panhandle. No other cars in sight. Lights came on from the opposite direction and trooper started across the interstate median. I was pulling my Hi-Lo trailer and my speedometer said 75(70mph zone). The trooper asked how fast I was going. I said 75. He said that's speeding. I said yes it is a little. He said he clocked me at 77. I said I was only going 75. He said 75 is still over the limit and wrote me a ticket. I think enforcing the law to that degree is HARRASSMENT. I'M STILL MAD. I couldn't find a lawyer to argue the case. They knew the judge, Marie Rucker, and said she always sided with the troopers. NEXT TIME I'M IN SWISHER COUNTY AROUND TULIA TEXAS, I'LL BE DOING AT LEAST 85, TRAILER IN TOW. It'll make it worth our while if they catch me again.

Jetson, yet another victim of a horse I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER summons, IMHO. I have never, in 14 years, written anything under 10 MPH over the posted, and those a few and very far between, set aside for the J. O. 's I very seldom encounter. The norm is 15 + over the posted get stopped, although the troopers here in NJ are writting alot of 10 overs in our new 65 MPH zones, so I hear.

WOW! Now this is entertainment! I was happy to find all this great information. Now great stories to boot. COOL!

Well I guess I can join the yellow slip parade too,,Got 1 coming down RT 15 s into the construction a few months ago one bright sunny Saturday,,Seems like the daytime dreamers were out in force and me and my sweetie were coming home from a wedding,,Got an open chance to pass before the construction, swatted the big juice pedal and away we go(around 4 cars and 1 slow large truck),,Eased up on the hammer, slid into the right lane at the beginning and was coasting for a long 12 mile single lane excursion,,Looked to the right behind closed ice cream shop and there he was, nose only showing and radar gun around the corner of the building,,BODDA BING,,Gun goes into air,he about falls getting into cruiser, realizing I'm duck soup, over I go and stop,,Pa's finest pulls right 50 ft and stops behind me(made sure he did not have to go far),,When he arrives at my truck and asks me how fast I was going my reply was,Over 65 sir,,He quoted"72 to be exact",,New I was up s*^# creek now,,72,construction zone, double fine and points on a CDL liscense,I needed an out quick,,He returned asked me out of the truck, then proceeded to ask me if I knew the construction laws for speed,I told him I did,,He was all along commenting about my BIG RED TRUCK,,Then asked me how long it had been since I moved to new address,,I had my out, pleaded stupidity, since I forgot to change it in the required 30 days(tags on my truck had been renewed and had new address not my liscense),,Any way, ticket was for $127. 50 for the address being incorrect(normally a $25 fee),much better than the $201. 50 x 2 I would have gotten,,He then proceeded to explain the damages I would have occured to my cdl with the BIG ticket(72 in 35= walking papers) and then explained that IF the truck next to me would not have interfered with the radar gun HE KNEW I was flying,,Moral here is plead stupidity,MOST times it should give you an out, but, not always... .
