Applying Crazy Seal Protective Coating to My RV Roof

Time to get new group 24 batts for my travel trailer. Ive been buying interstate for the last several times Ive bought batts, but I am becoming a little unhappy with interstate lately. Any recommendations ? Remember, they have to be group 24. Thanks.

I just replaced the battery in my dump, 2.5 year old Interstate, group 24. It was only 550 cca. I went with Napa, 800 cca/1000ca, one like these, Marine/RV/Starting.

Can you not switch to a pair of 6V? Same footprint as a G24 but a little taller, and a LOT better!!

Unless you're willing to spend big bucks Costco is hard to beat.

For an RV make sure they are deep cycle only, not dual purpose.

I think the 6v are too big. Seems like I investigated that quite a while ago. Costco sells interstate, and for group 24 they are deep cell/starting batts last time I looked.

Yes they are a little taller. I couldn’t fit them on my last TT.

Dual purpose batts just don’t last as long, or preform as well as true deep cycles.

If Costco doesn’t have a true deep cycle G24 then I’d look for Trojans.

Just went to lithium this past spring. Two UT1300s gives me 200 Ah of usage, with over 13 volts throughout the range. Same footprint as the 24s.

Had to modify the programming in the inverter/charger and my factory installed solar charge controller is due for an upgrade this September. New, more compatible, profiles had to be created.

I'd go with Deka. Supposedly Napa brand is made by Deka but I get good enough deals from the local Deka dealer I've not followed up on that.

I wouldn't recommend Interstate to anyone anymore. They are junk from my and others I know experiences. I used to run them exclusively in everything, going back about 6-7 years ago they all started failing. Coincidentally just enough inside the poor pro rated warranty to keep me going back until I had enough. I've had one fail right out of the box -DOA upon hooking up to the wife's car. I've had one fail within a month. Had one fail inside of two years in a tractor. Replaced one in my 98 once and the other 3 times, the last on my own dime because the warranty is only good from the original point of purchase and does not start over with the new battery.
The last Interstate in my collection is a 3 year old Group 31. Regularly used in the winter and kept on a trickle charger and acid level is checked regularly through out the summer. Just last week I went to switch the trickle charger over to the 31 and it was dead. No prior warning. Acid level was good. Had only been off the trickle charger for about 2 weeks. Wasn't hooked up to anything to cause a drain. It just died. That's pretty typical in my experiences and It isn't worth the pro rated warranty. It'll get turned in for a Deka with an unconditional 5 year 100% replacement warranty.

Copy and paste from my link I posted:

I have always used NAPA batteries with great results in my trailer and truck. Why NAPA? I can always find a NAPA Store if required.
