Does anyone have suggestion on mounting location for trailer brake control. I'm thinking about the opening under the heater and air conditioner controls, however I cna't figure how to get behind it to see whats problems I might encounter. Ahn help would be appreciated.

I think it all depends on what controller you have. I bought an 06 in August and just looked for the easiest out of the way location. I chose right of steering column on bottom. Just had to remove one screw and drill for the other. I have been towing for more than 30 years and used several trucks and brands of controllers. Nothing is as good as the old hydraulic units, but the prodigy comes close: just set it and forget it. Of course if your controller requires constant adjustment, then you would need it in easy reach.

No offense to anybody but I would go to the extra work to mount it under the heater controls. If you mount it on the knee bolster and have a wreck, it's more likely you'll have severe knee injuries.

I used a flash light and a coat hanger to fish it through the cubby ~ it was fairly easy.

I think under the heater controls makes more sense. There is't much room under the dash for a long legged guy. Thank you, I'm going to try that.

we just did a post on this last week with pictures...

search and you will find

I put mine under the heater control... prodigy. . fit perfectly. . only needed a piece of double sided tape for security,, it doesnt move without it but I wanted to be sure,, plug and play power cable from prodigy was just the right length. . same place several other members have put theirs. . your right hand falls to it naturally for manual braking

Here's my 06' Mega SLT. No additional holes were drilled for wiring. Very easy to reach in case of emergency.

Your solution to the location is exactly what I had in mind before I Posted the thread. I plan on driling a hold for the wires then wireing the pigtail to plug in after I have mounted the control. Your picture was helpful.
