LB or SB for towing Travel Trailer?

Most embarrassing moment at a campsite

Decided it was time to do a brake job on the 24 ft Komfort. Tandem Axel. Went to NAPA. Brake shoes (relined) $84 per axel. Sticker shock.

Later was researching the Pdogigy brake controler and stumbled across Southwest Wheel in Dallas and they offer backing plates with shoes, springs, magnets fully assembled for $32.

Lets see. The whole enchilada $20/axel cheaper than shoes?

Anyone have any experience with these folks or these products?

nope, but that's the way of the future. when we ordered pads only, for some of our trailers, we were told that we could spend about 20 bucks more for the preassembled kit. add in the seperate costs for the adjusters, springs, mags... . no brainer :)

From what I've heard, Southwest Wheel is a pretty good place. They have some good prices too. That's where I'm buying my Alcoas in a few months.

Do you have the website name or phone number for Southwest Wheel in Dallas? I am getting ready to do the same to my Alpenlite 5er and the deal you ran across sounds pretty reasonable.

Any one else out there found a reasonable deal on the Trailer brake kits from a source in the Pacific NW ? Would appreciate any and all info.

On this website we frequently see negative comments about dealers and other vendors.

I want to pass along my experience with my Prodigy purchase from Southwest Wheel.

Ordered the Prodigy controler Sunday evening via internet. 2 day Free Fed Ex delivery. 10AM Monday received e-mail shipping info with a link to FedEx for tracking. Checked Wednesday at noon to see where it was. It was at my home delivered and signed for by my wife at 9:55 Wed AM. Thats 1 1/2 day shipping! And REAL PROMPT handling of the order. And I live 16 miles out of town in the foothills east of Clovis which is nowhere close.

I will do business with them again.

I just ordered one as well from them. Great price considering free shipping and no tax. Most who have them seem to like them and I was impressed by the sales rep at Southwest Wheel.

tybol & afisher: Thank you for the information, will be contacting them both about trailer brakes.

tybol - your uncle has his priorities in order. Wallows Lake is a beautiful place, as is the whole Wallows Valley area. We live about 17 miles from the lake. We also go through Wilsonville often on our way to the Corvallis area, so stopping in Wilsonville is no problem.

Again, thanks to both of you on the information.
