I need to buy a ball mount for the factory trailer hitch. What is the correct method for determining the proper drop measurement for the mount? BTW, it's for a 2006 3500 srw short bed 2wd. Thanks.
 
It depends on the height of the trailer tonge. Also the weight of the trailer. If you pull different trailers, you can get an adjustable ball mount. Genos has a nice aluminum one that is a little pricey. Master lock makes one that you can adjust with the trailer hitched.
