In the latest issue (feb2004) of Trailer Life, a 1999 powerstroke owner complains about truck eating 7 injectors in 86,000 miles. He has had 7 injectors replaced with the first at 500 mi. They discuss using an aftermarket additive such as Power Service or Howe's because of the low sulfer fuel in Calif. Also dealer says truck shows a code problem but dealer can't find the problem.
RV Clinic & Peformance techs advise that he is not the only owner who has problems with 7. 3 liter injectors and advises owner "maybe think about trading it when the warranty ends"!!!
Wouldn't trying some after market injectors be worth a try. Interesting article, but brief.
