Starting small in the RV world...

B&W Companion 18K 5th wheel hitch

Just purchased a Work&Play from Forrest River. I pull with the 99 dually in 'off-road' situations and with the 5th wheel box clearance can be an issue. On my old trailer, I simply had the axles flipped over the spring for about a 4" lift... . worked great. The new trailer apparently has torsion bars and flipping axels is not an option. Has anyone ever put air bags on a trailer for a lift? Is anyone familiar with this trailer model? Can you crank up the torsion bars like a pickup for an extra bit of clearance?

You will probably need a good trailer shop cut off your suspension and weld some box sections to your trailer frame and re-mount your suspension on the box sections. You can easily gain 3 to 4 inches or more this way. There is a shop in Minnesota where I had this done on a trailer I had quite a few years ago and they told me this is the best way to raise a trailer. I'm sure there are places that could do this near where you live too.
