Trailer Light Test Feature

A while back on my '22, I stumbled on the Trailer light test feature it has. Go to the trailer menu and there it is, cycles through the various lights automatically for a while so you can check all the lights out on the trailer and not have to run back to the truck.

It's a cool little option I never knew existed.

I don't know if I'm better off now or worse off because I will be doing less steps on my pre trip checks. I never minded making the extra steps. But it does make it easy.

I looked briefly and did not see much posted about this. Has it been around forever and I just never looked at all the features of the menu?

Don't know when they started that feature on the trucks, but it's been a great feature that AlfaOBD has on it's menu. I've used the Alfa light check a couple of times and yes it cuts down on the steps for light checking but allows you to get on the road a bit quicker! Glad to see that someone was finally thinking about a feature that is not only useful but a safety check item that simplifies making sure lights work!

I think 20 or 21 was the first year. It’s a very handy feature.

Looks like 21 was the first year and it’s standard on Big Horn and above.

AlfaOBD can probably fix that for you.

Thanks, was wondering if I had missed something that was pretty basic for a long time.

It is handy. Even does the reverse lights I think, not that I have that on any of my trailers.
