Our '94 vintage trucks were prone to burned-out headlight switches caused by having it also carry the trailer running light circuit. The fix was a "bypass operation" of some kind.
Do any of you electrical types know whether the 3G trucks have a design feature to eliminate that flaw? The feel of the headlight switch makes me think I'm sending a pilot signal to a relay, not actually making/breaking the feed to the headlights. I see there's a relay for trailer running lights, but that may not be anything new.
