2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Trailer plug power problem-Help Please

No running lights. Checked power at the rear plug-brake lights and turn signals work. No power at run light terminal when headlights are on. Where is my probable problem?

my trailer has a fuse between the plug and the converter. mine blew when I cut the imbilical cord. in fact, the fuse is outside the trailer under the battery tray up front. not in the power dist. center inside. .

I had the same problem. It was a 40 amp fuse in the power disb. box. It is under the hood on drivers side. good luck!

It's probably pretty obvoius, but start by checking the power at the truck's wiring plug first without the trailer attached. If you have running light power at the truck plug, it must be something on the trailer.

Just curious, wonder what made it blow?was it possibly another trailer you had hooked up in the past that wasn't wired correctly Inquiring minds want to know.

Just sos you don't blow another one at $4 or $5 bucks a pop.

My father-in-law bought a used flatbed that I hooked up and BAM! there went the fuse. Come to find out the fella that he bought it from had it wired a$$ backwards

Blowing the PDC trailer fuse

The PDC fuse let go when I hooked up to a U-haul trailer. The trailer was wired wrong...

Cause of problem

Found a crimped wire that had heated up. Replaced section of wire and replaced fuse. Working fine now.

I just checked mine today - no power at the plug in the back of the truck and the fuse in the power dist box looks good. What else could it be? Is there supposed to be power on all the time? This is the contact for charging the camper battery that I'm talking about. The other lights and brakes work fine.

Sorry - my previous post was off track a little. I thought the discussion was about the connection to charge the battery in a camper. After I reread things, it turns out it was about running lights. I have no problem with them. Also found out the charging circuit does not go through a relay. Oh well. Still trying to figure out the charging thing.
