My head lights...

I'm getting no power to the pin for the right side brake light. On either of the factory plugs.

Can't find any blown fuses and the connections have been cleaned at the plug.

All the lights on the truck work fine.

Leaving in the AM for a short trip and I would like a right side brake light on my trailer.

The truck is an '06

Given the short time span, you're going to have to just rig something up as a temporary fix until you've got time to properly diagnose the problem.

I'd splice into the truck's right brake light and wire in a relay to send power to the trailer.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I believe the trailer lights are controlled thru the body computer and require a visit to the dealer to have them reset.

I can't confirm CPersing statement but I've read something on this... . a short in this circuit does require a return to the dealer for reset and there is a software upgrade that raises the bar for when they trip... . the fuses are now gone... .

CPersing, great catch I was about ready to offer another suggestion until I read your post...

One of our work trucks (06 cc 2wd dually) had the same issue on the left side. We checked all the fuses, connections, and ended up at the dealership to have them reset the computer in it. (We took the trailer with us to make sure it would work. ) It took the guy about 2 mins. to do it. Everything is fine now.

You have got to be kidding... going back to the dealer for a reset on trailer towing lights is BS. #@$%! Hopefully it never happens to me

Well, you better hope you never hook up to an unknown trailer with shorted wiring, or "boom, boom, out go the lights" :mad:And if I understand correctly after the dealer has reset the TIPM 5 or 6 time you have to replace the module for somewhere close to $ 400-500. #@$%!

It will only take one trip to the dealer for this problem and I will be putting my own fuse protection close to the tow plug. That will cost a whole lot less than $400-500 and/or numerous trips to the dealer. Sure wish they would hurry up and release the factory service manual on CD for these trucks. I can't even get Geno's to reply to my requests anymore about it... . $445 seems like a bit much for a printed copy IMHO.

I have had that problem with my 1999 2500. My problem was a blown fuse in the fuse box under the hood. The truck lights are fused in the fuse panel on the dash board. The trailer light fuses are located under the hood left side in front of the power brakes. You might check there for this problem.
