I was wondering what are the best trailer tires to get and where to get them. I have heard on here that goodyear marathons sucks my trailer currently has these tires I think they came with it when the trailer was new. I have a 6x12 tandem axle wells cargo that weights about 5k with everthing inside of it.

Seems like every large 5er I see has 16inch General tires. Are they any good? Don't know if they are or not. Don't know if they are availabe in smaller tires either. Sorry not much help just wondering if they are any good and maybe what we should be using!!!!:)

There are lots of tire posts if you do a search. I had 2 blowouts with Generals + changed to Michelin XPS but not much towing on these yet.

I put Michelin 15in. tires on my 6x12 Interstate Cargo Trailer to replace the original Marathons that had ply seperations.

edit: this thing weighs in at 7200 lbs, and I tow at 75 mph.

I have Goodyear Work Horse Radials on my fiver in load range "E". I inflate them to 80 lbs when towing. I think the load range and inflation pressure is going to determine the life of the tire. I had some tread seperation a few years ago, but I heard Goodyear has their act together now. I have 9;50 X 16. 5's and Goodyear is the only one I can find with that size. Would love to go to a 16", but don't know how they would work on my rig since it is very heavy.
