I received both sets of mirrors I ordered from Wyatt Arp Dodge, 2001 manual trailer tow mirrors and 2006 power trailer tow mirrors. I used the instructions that were posted and switched the bases. They went together and work like there supposed to, but I have a 3/4 inch gap on the bottom where 3rd gen arm meets the 2nd gen base. On the top towards the front of the truck there is a corner on the 3rd gen arm that just sticks out and doesn't line up. The mirror arms have different spacing, I can put 3rd gen mirrors on the 2nd gen bases but I can't put the 2nd gen mirrors on the 3rd gen bases. Did I do something wrong, am I supposed to swap the arms also so everything lines up good or are 2006 mirrors different than 2003 mirrors.

Mine did the same thing. I just ended up doing a lot of work with the file to make the bases and the arms seat together correctly. my passenger side still has about a 3/8" gap, but not extremely noticeable.

It just takes some time to make it work.

and no, you cant put the 3rd gen bases on a 2nd gen, they are massive!!!
