04 3500 TD, Dually, all stock, pulling 14K dump trailer. Noticed no turn and brake lights on the trailer - left side only. No signal in the trailer plug, went to the fuse box - all fuses are OK. Than I checked the TDR forums and concluded that the non-replaceble relay inside the fuse box has failed. The Glenn E. Thomas Dodge dealer in Long Beach has confirmed my suspicion. My only option is a new fuse box, $ 220. 00 plus labor and cost of diagnosys, comes to over $ 500. 00 I have already ordered the parts, but if you guys have a better idea, I sure would love to here it. Anyway, happy trucking!

That sucks but it could be worse. At least you can fix it yourself, if you had an 06 you'd have to get the dealer to reset the TIPM. If you tend to have shorts in your trailer wiring it can get spendy getting the dealer to keep resetting it. Oh but after they reset it 5 times, you have to replace the TIPM!

How screwed up is that?

Are you sure that the relays don't unplug... . seems I've had them out on my 04 or 05 when I had a problem and moved them to see of the problem would move... .

I will have the dealer to do the repair. Somebody else wrote in another thread on the subject, that the relays are not replaceble. I don't want to mess with it and risk cripling my truck! Than i will perform an autopsy on the old fuse box, just to see if the relays inside could be replaced by the owner. ( For the future )

Here is another thought: Mayby Chrysler does not need to let go 13 000 people and close plants. Maybe they just need to fire the genius who keeps comming up with these designs!
