I have and enclosed race car trailer with white laminent walls. (looks like dry erase board material) What is the industry name for the laminent material? some one told me luan, but I don't know if that is correct or not. Had a roof leak and the wall board became "puffy". I fixed the leak and want to replace that section of the wall. Can this stuff be purchased at Home Depot?

Luan is the hardwood thin laminate doors- It is not that. If it became "puffy" after being wet it is probably MDF - Medium Denisty Fiberboard. With a thin white coating on it. It is a wood like material similar to "pegboard" If that is the stuff than something similar can be gotten at lowes or home depot. The brown " underlayment". this is usually 1/4" thick with a smooth side ( may hold paint ) And a tiny pattern on the back. Or just look for aluminum panels and change them out with that. May be able to find a cheap bathroom laminate wall material also in the correct color with a heavy duty plastic laminate coating. Just dont get the one that looks like tile -it would look dorky:D

Sounds like a vinyl coated wall. My snowmobile trailer had that. My next one will be plain plywood i can paint or aluminum. Problem with aluminum (or Beer can material to those that cannot say aluminum) is that it dents and scratches easy that can't be fixed easy.

I used to work in the semi trailer industry. My "home built" trailer has a painted white 1/4" plywood liner on the walls and a kemlight (translucent) roof. I don't needs lights if the sun is up.
