wind deflectors - MPG gain ??

King Of The Road -how much does it weigh ?

Has anyone tried spray wax/cleaners on their trailers? Am curious what works and what doesn't. Are there any products that would work well with a pressure washer?

I only have a 26' smooth side trailer and thinking of applying wax and buffing it off, is not an option. There are lot of products listed in catalogs but difficult to decide which one's work.

Thanks for your comments.

Frank,

I have used Protect All Wax for many years on both aluminum and fiberglass sided trailers with very good results. You can get it at Camping World or Wal-Mart. Your RV should be cleaned first.

It comes in a spray bottle and you spray it lightly on an area, spread it around evenly with an old towel, and use a clean towel to dry and polish it out. Easy, fast, and gets good relults or I wouldn't use it. :D

The best I have found is Gel Gloss RV cleaner/polish. No abrasives, cleans with chemicals, goes on and comes off easy. So easy to use I even polish while camping if I get bored.

I also recommend using the GEL-GLOS. It seems to disolve any kind of dirt, bugs, and all black streaks. All you do is put it on with a damp cloth, let dry, and remove with a clean cloth.

cleaner and wax

I have been using a cleaner called "simple green". It works quite well without water. I don't know if it has petroleum in it though. I clean my camper with it, then I hose if off good with water, then I wax the camper with the "protect all.

Which Wax

Frank,

I would agree here with the majority. Protect-All is about the best. I have used it on my trailers that had smooth aluminum with great results. As far as I'm concerned it the best and easiest to use. It can also be used on rubber(tires), vinyl - dash etc. Its somewhat expensive but goes a long way.

We've used a product called "Dri Wash and Guard" on our new 5ver for about a year. It's somewhat expensive, but it has done an excellent job in maintaining a great shine on the gel coat. A fringe benefit is that, unless you pull the 5ver through slop and rain, any road dust will just wipe off using a white towel over the head of our extension wash brush - takes about 10 minutes to clean up the 5ver after towing all day. Bugs come off the front fairly easily as well.
