I am purchasing a 3-axle trailer, and I need to add some equipment to pull it. Monday I am having a B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck hitch installed at the factory. I have also purchased a Tekonsha brake controller. My current issue is trailer wiring. Is there a standard wiring scheme for the round 6-pin trailer connector (i. e. what pins are wired to what function on my Dodge)? The pins are in a star configuration with a center pin and a key on top. If I can get close it will save me time when I try to hook up to my new trailer. Thanks and Happy Holidays!

KC, just go to your trailer hitch installer and he will have the standard wireing diagram. Each type of cannon plug has its own pattern, so you should be able to pull someone elses trailer and if it has the same plug and is wired properly everything should work. Good luck and Happy Holidays, Dave

This site answered all my questions on trailer wiring and how too... . I'd get the page for you but not sure what connector your using. Just look at the links for Bargman connectors and find yours. Maybe they have accessories to make your hookup really simple. #ad

Also has the Tekonsha FAQ ect. #ad

Thanks to Bob-Texas for the web site. I found the wiring diagram on that site. I have only been a member a couple of weeks, but I am very impressed with the knowledge and helpfulness of TDR members! #ad
