What Break Controller Do You Recomend?

I own a 1995 Dodge 3/4 ton two wheel drive with a Cumming's engine. I am currently buying a 30 ft. fifth wheel trailor. But I need some help on the breaking system since this will be my first fifth wheel trailor. Any suggestions on a good breaking control system and where can I get it? Thanks PhilOo.

I've got a Jordan brake controller in mine and love it. A little bit more work to install than the inertia units, but it works so much better. Check them out: Jordan Brake

The usual disclaimers all apply - I don't sell for them, they're not in my town, I'm just a happy customer.

Phil - QUICK get that CUMMINGS out of there !!! Get a Cummins instead!! Ford owns Cummings !!!:-laf

Seriously, I second the use of the Jordan controller, SUPER good people to deal with, 9 of 10 times you'll deal directly with Jordan himself.

You should also consider an exhaust brake, no truck should be towing without one.

Congrats and good luck on the new fifth wheel.

Get a Kern Canyon Giant Boulder and tie a rope around it,when you have an emergency stop hit the release handle and drop the Boulder. This is cheap, and works. Just ask Fred F. :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf

I could`nt help it :-laf :-laf :-laf

Trailer brake control system

Thanks for all the input guys.

J. smith I tried that already with my 90 GMC up at Eagle lake Ca. The rear end went out and thats why I own a dodge:D :D :D

I think people are evenly divided between the Prodigy and the Jordan. I've got the prodigy. Best controller I've ever had. Can't compare to the Jordan, cuz I've never had one. I'm sure you won't be disappointed with either. For more opinions, do a search. There's been lots of discussion on this topic.

Jordan Ultima 2020 controller and Jacobs exhaust brake here. We're towing at 21,180 GCW (21,500 GCWR) and like this combination. :D

Been pulling for 12 years with inerita controller. I reciently switched to the Jordan Ultima 2020. There is no comparison between the two. The Jordan is superior by a mile! This will be the only brand of brake controler that I own.
