Someone at Muncie had a horn on their truck that sounded just like a train. Anyone know where those can be ordered from?

LOL Hoot! Yo-Hoot! Him and his K3LA Locomotive Horn got my ful attention @ # feet away from them on video. THAT HAD TO BE THE MOST LOUDEST THING I HAVE YET TO ENCOUNTER FROM ONLY A FEW SHORT FEET AWAY ... .

I just had an idea... ... I'm going to get that Cannon Ball Express horn, mount it on the fence behind my house. It abutts the main drag in my neighborhood. Set a sound level sensor there to pick up those Taco Thumpers that rattle the walls off my house.

Kawumpah Thumpa, HHHHOOOOOOOONNNNNNKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!

:D I can't get over the idea :D

Yeah, Hoot can really give a HOOT!!! Mine came out on the video I took. I thought it would have killed the mike. I think my ears are still ringing though. I want some of that on my truck.

Just out of curiosity, is it legal everywhere to have and use those super-loud horns?

By use, I mean in a responsible manner. Like when some #%$@* tries to take off the front bumper off my truck.

I sure hope so. I really want one.

I take it you rarely or dont hook on to a trailer??? If I were to mount the trumpets where you have yours,

(1) The gooseneck platform would hinder the space

(2) any heavy trailer would dissentigrate the set of horns

(3) road grime!!

I like the setup, but what all does the $450 include?

No I don't hook.

Train horns are typically on top of a train behind the diesel stack getting rained, snowed and sooted thier entire life. Where my horns are they don't hardly get dirty let alone anything getting inside.

$450 is only the horn. My valve cost $100 lines... . $25 and tank is a rent $5 a month $15 to fill lasts 2 months

Hoot-

I sure like'm, but I'm not sure I want that big control in the cab?? These can't be operated with a button somehow?

Before you say it, yes I am clueless!! I once bought a bunch of do it yourself floor tile because the box said clueless. If I'd had my glasses on, I would have seen that it really said 'GLUEless!':D

Oh, well, at least I keep the little woman amused!

Then you go with a solenoid... . on/off. You don't get the true effect. The valve makes it. It looks crazy but you know what, it doesn't get in the way and when you are in the cab you don't even know it's there except for the handle. Forget about looks... . it's all performance.

Yep! Solenoids are quick acting, either open or shut. With the valve you can feather it much better. You could build a guage console on the floor and just have the handle sticking out.

SWEET! Train horns for an audio BOMB and scaring the youknowwhat out of inconsiderate drivers and aircraft landing lights for a visual BOMB and to see really far at night, are on my wish list. Not practical but who cares! Where is that credit card...

Yo Hoot, that's an awesome installation!
